My wife and I decided to get a dog as our daughter was soon to be leaving home; we looked on the internet at various breeds
and decided on a beagle. We started looking in magazines, newspapers and on the internet for breeders.
We eventually came across an advert in Your Dog magazine for Beagles & You, so contacted the number, we spoke to
Margaret who was very helpful, and she actually said that if we didn’t want to travel the long journey she would talk to some
other breeders closer to us on our behalf to see if they were ok. She sent us some pictures of her puppies, - even though she
lived on the Isle of Wight and we lived in Newcastle Upon-Tyne, we decided to travel down and choose a puppy, as we were
very impressed with the pictures.
When we arrived, Margaret and her husband Mike made us feel very welcome; they showed us around the kennels and the
beagles they kept, they were all a very good pedigree. They both made the whole experience really special, as they brought
out the various puppies in a mosses basket. It was very hard to choose between the puppies, but in the end we all decided on
a tri-colour male beagle with a black saddle.
We had to wait until our puppy was 13 weeks old before we could collect him; they kept us informed of his progress over the
weeks by sending pictures through email.
Eventually the time came when we could pick up our puppy Wilson, it made the journey worthwhile when we saw him as he
was lovely - the perfect beagle.
Wilson is now 9 months old an d is full of fun; we would highly recommend this breeder as we know they are always at the
end of the phone if we need them for anything.
